Do Amber Teething Necklaces Work? Are They Safe?

Amber Teething Necklaces are all the rage the past few years. But do they work? Are they safe? The answer to both of these questions is, Yes! But we have to understand why and how they work, buy a quality necklace, and know how to use them safely.

How do Amber Teething Necklaces Work?

  • Why they Work: Baltic Amber necklaces contain succinic acid, an ingredient found in many Chinese medicines. Succinic Acid is anti-inflammatory, immune boosting, antioxidant-rich, and it is calming and soothing.
  • Which ones work: Amber necklaces must be truly raw to be effective. It is best that they have 3rd party verification as real and raw, in order to work properly. Tip: look for a certification from the Gemological Institute Of America (GIA) as authentic.
  • How to use amber necklaces safely
  • Amber necklaces are NOT to be chewed on.
  • They should be around 12" so they are not too tight or too loose.
  • Most high-quality necklaces are made with a break-away clasp, as well as being individually knotted between each bead for safety.
  • Not to be worn while sleeping.
  • Can be worn on a child after 3-4 months of age.

The Bottom Line

Baltic Amber Necklaces are a safe, effective, and attractive option to help reduce inflammation associated with teething. Some companies also make adult-size necklaces to match your little one, and it can be beneficial for inflammation for you as well!
