What Is Telehealth?


Telehealth is healthcare done via electronic means. Telehealth allows providers, such as members of our pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy teams to provide care, monitoring, education, exercises to patients remotely. This services helps with continuity of care and continue progress towards clients goals when practitioner and patient are not able to have a physical appointment together.
 

Does The Pediatric Movement Center Offer Telehealth?


YES! For current therapy clients or prospective clients, the Pediatric Movement Center offers telehealth to clients deemed medically appropriate for this service. This means that clients can receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy out of the comfort of their own home. If you are interested in scheduling a telehealth appointment, please call a member of our team at 301-739-5437! To move forward with scheduling, our team will need: Patient paperwork, prescription form, insurance information and our telehealth waiver form.


How Does Telehealth Work? What Are Some Telehealth Facts?

 

  • Telehealth is covered by most insurances!
  • PMC will check all insurance prior to starting telehealth therapy and notify families of coverage! Just ask!
  • Telehealth therapy sessions will typically last 30-40 minutes
  • A PMC team member will  provide you with a HIPPA compliment video conference link via email
  • Telehealth is not a replacement for typical, traditional therapy, but is a great resource to provide our patients with continuity of care, so they may continue to work on and progress towards their therapy goals. Telehealth is a great option to train and equip patients and families members with an exercise program that can be done from home!
  • Our telehealth software is HIPAA compliant, plus, patients do not need to download software ahead of time. They simply need to clink on the appointment link to start the session
