Speciality Equipment

  • Snoezelen Room (specialized sensory room) that:
  • A Multi-Sensory Environment (MSE) is allows the user to control all aspects of sensation in the area.  MSE's is  accessible to all functioning levels. It empowers the individual to overcome sensory deficits and allows them to take control to discover and explore the world around them
  • LiteGait: (weight bearing, partial weight bearing, and non-weight bearing) to use with or without a treadmill
  • Sensory Swings: Swings target specific vestibular receptors and improve coordination, muscle tone, motor skills, core strength, and balance in a fun environment
  • Rock Wall: Fun way to integrate upper-body strength and coordination into therapy!
  • Universal Exercise Unit (UEU): Equipment allows us to isolate and strengthen specific muscles necessary to produce functional movement.

  • Preschool Preparation: Our KidMotion College program helps children get ready for school!
  • Special Olympics: sports organization for children with physically and/or intellectual disabilities
  • Beautiful Beginnings: (high risk infant support program)
  • School-based therapy: OT and SLP available in participating schools only
  • In-house Equipment Evaluations: (PMC therapy member + equipment vendor of clients choice)
  • In-house AFO Evaluations: (PMC therapy member + AFO vendor of clients choice)
  • Handwriting program: Group treatment (6 week program) and individual treatments for pediatrics
  • Vision screening: Occupational therapy assessment of vision as  it relates to balance and vestibular issues
  • Aquatic therapy (developmental phase): In the process of developing a aquatic therapy program in Hagerstown

Physical

Therapy

Our physical therapists can help children reduce pain and improve or restore mobility, order durable medical equipment including specialized seating and wheelchairs, and collaborate with other medical professionals to order custom orthotics. Our therapists treat gross motor and strength deficits and assess activities such as walking, running, sitting, and balancing. Using exercise and play as treatment tools, our physical therapists tailor their treatment plan to maximize each child’s gross motor function.


Treatment Techniques:

  • Therapeutic handling to facilitate progression of movement
  • NDT techniques
  • Manual therapy, including but not limited to TMR, myofascial release, and craniosacral
  • Equipment and Orthotic Assessment
  • Electric stimulation and taping as indicated

Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational therapists (OT’s) help children participate in the activities they want and need to do everyday. OT’s will evaluate children’s visual-perceptual skills, sensory skills, motor skills and coordination. Our play-based therapy interventions can treat a variety of conditions and help improve a child’s ability to perform their daily activities.

Speech

Therapy

Speech Language Pathologists (SLP’s) assess and treat children with speech, language, communication and feeding/swallowing difficulties including articulation disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, stuttering/fluency disorders, cognitive-communication disorders, social communication disorders, and feeding/swallowing disorders. Our play-based therapy interventions are fun and engaging, which makes learning fun for your child.
